A great way to start the series.

 While every game is important, this game was incredibly important for a variety of reasons:

 1) It establishes confidence. It seems a big problem with the Chicago Cubs was once they lost the first game they lost all confidence and expected to collapse. A win tonight prevents that from ever happening.

Chris Coste gave the Phillies offense just what they hoped for with a 2-4 4 RBI effort Friday Night in a win over the Los Angeles Dodgers and Citizens Bank Park.

 Kendrick redeemed himself after getting pummeled by the Dodgers last week by pitching 5 2/3 strong given up just 3 hits and one earned run. Kendrick booked win no. 11 on the season, tied with Jamie Moyer for the team lead.

In closing, let's look at the NL Leader in Ks. Ryan Howard (who broke Dunn's single-season K record last year with 199) leads the league with 149, eclipsing Dunn's meager 120. Howard's line for the year: .240/.327/.496, 32 HRs (tied with Dunn), 98 RBI.
